Inhouse versus Open Calendar course
Have you ever wondered what an inhouse course means? Ever considered to attend a course but weren't sure which option achieves the highest ROI?

The Art of Service offers a large choice of education programs and training courses based around ITIL Service Managmeent. This might make it difficult to make the choice that is going to offer you most value. Some courses are offered as scheduled open calendar courses (OC) where others are only offered as inhouse (IH) courses.

Some of  our courses are:
  • 2-hour ITIL awareness (inhouse only)
  • 1-day ITIL awareness ( OC and IH)
  • 1-day ITIL Executive Awareness (IH)
  • 3-day ITIL Foundation course (OC and IH)
  • 2-day ITIL Foundation course for executives (IH)
  • 1-day Best Practise process workshops (IH)
  • 2-day ITIL Practitioner courses (OC and IH)
  • 5-day ITIL Cluster Practitioner course (OC and IH)
  • 12-day ITIL Service Management certificate course (OC and IH)
  • Customer service for IT Staff (IH)
  • Implementing ITIL Service Management using the Prince2 methodology (IH)
  • ... and many more. We also develop specialised customised courses for your specific needs.

Most courses are pre-planned in an annual calendar. The dates are fixed, but may be subject to change.
You can find these dates on our website and in our service catalogue. These courses are referred to as "Open Calendar courses"
You can register for these courses anytime you like, up to 7 days prior to the course date.

People register for an open calender course for several reasons, some of which are:
  • There are only a few people in the organisation who need to attend this course or there is no backfilling facilities for IT staff when they attend an educational program.
  • When you attend an open calendar course you meet many people from other organisations. Most of our participants like the interaction with people from other organisations to hear other 'war stories' and learn from each experience.

Many organisations wish to run an education program at the dates that are most suitable to them and therefore choose to organise an 'In House Course'. The Art of Service supplies the program facilitator and the educational materials, and you organise a group of participants. The program can be delivered at a venue of your choice or at The Art of Service Management Education Centre.
As these inhouse courses are invoices at a fixed price, most organisations choose to fill the courses with as many people as possible (to a maximum of 16 per group) to make the price per person a lot more attractive.

Feel free to contact us about our educational programs, whether they are Open Calendar courses or In house programs.
