As a student who is preparing for the upcoming and eventful CCNP certificate exam, reading CCNP books is a BIG MUST. There are several books being sold in the market for this purpose. As a student, finding the best guidebook can be daunting and confusing. Here are a few things to be aware of or the apparent weaknesses and strengths of CCNP books in the market:
CCNP professionals write the books. The books are error-free which is not surprising because there are some, which are official guidebooks of CCNP itself. The facts are written in a direct manner and are deeply concerned in teaching how to do the job correctly. The books are full of examples that are direct from experience. The disadvantage, however, is that they are too much information on the book. Every word and information counts, therefore a student has to really concentrate on all the details. Missing some details means that you shall miss some smaller important points that may be applicable to the next chapters. The official CCNP books might be boring. It might be too much information packed inside the book. If these official guidebooks do not appeal to a student, there are other alternative CCNP books available in the market. There are those that are more chatty and easy on the eyes. Some CCNP books provide questionnaires at the end of every chapter and not the multiple-choice questions in the CCNP certificate exams. Although a CCNP student would want to buy a book that will be closer to what the real CCNP certificate exam will be, this is hardly true in the real exam world.
