ITIL® Certification

There are three main ITIL® certifications namely, the Foundation certification in IT service management, the Practitioner’s certification in IT service management and Manager’s certification in IT service management.

The foundation ITIL® certification is for the beginners who need not necessarily have prior experience in IT though it is an added advantage. It is a prerequisite for the practitioner’s and manager’s certificates in IT service management.

The practitioner’s ITIL® certification establishes the holder’s competence in understanding and application of specific processes within the IT service management domain. On the other hand, manager’s ITIL® certification establishes the holder’s competence in overall management of the Service Desk, the 10 core disciplines of IT Service Management and their interrelationships and interfaces. For the practitioner’s and manager’s certificate in IT service management, the pursuer must have few years of hands-on experience in IT. In case of manager’s ITIL® certification, an intermediate knowledge of ITIL® is also required.
