ITIL® IT Infrastructure Library
ITIL® IT Infrastructure Library has changed the functioning of the IT industry in the recent past. This industry was full of unorganized work and confined to technical terms only. The OGC (office of Government Commerce) introduced the idea of ITIL® IT Infrastructure Library, that is a set of comprehensive codes of best practices in the IT Service Management.
The best practices are not defined but accumulated with experience through the course of time. The practice that is widely accepted these days may not be of much relevance if some other practice proves more beneficial.
The set of processes are targeted at particular departments like configuration, problem, incident and service. Implementation of the processes will be done by ITIL® professionals trained especially to handle such situations in an organization. ITIL® practices also determine relationship with the other IT processes apart from Service Management.
