Edith Cowan recently took an ITIL approach to the re-engineering of its IT helpdesk by implementing Hewlett-Packard’s (HP) OpenView Service Desk solution based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework.
ITIL and Australia – Edith Cowan University Through HP OpenView Service Desk, the West Australian-based University is developing a streamlined, largely automated and integrated technology framework which delivers a complete picture of its entire IT infrastructure.
Perth-based IT services provider Kinetic IT helped the University implement the Service Desk application, moving beyond a purely technical installation to include cohesive new IT processes.
HP OpenView’s Service Desk incident and problem management capabilities are proving a powerhouse solution with the fast resolution of system issues and the seamless monitoring and tracking of technology used by the University.
The implementation is helping raise customer satisfaction and will provide the University with a more strategic and cost-effective approach to planning, IT asset management and budgeting.
