ITIL Process Diagrams get discussed in the typical forums worldwide such as within the itSMF and various chat rooms around the world.
In certain situations the ITIL process diagrams are quite prescriptive and in others they are not! Diagrams and Workflows Why ITIL does not prescribe exactly the workflow for every situation can seem to be a flaw in the framework to the inexperienced.
This is far closer to being a strength as it can easily become too prescriptive and the truth of this is that ITIL should be mapped to the readers organization rather than changing your organization to conform to ITIL theory.
As we all know, every organization is slightly different and therefore the ITIL process Diagrams that are generated to support procedures and work instructions may not be identical.
Be Critical My advice is that if you are trying to shortcut and use some other organizations ITIL Process Diagrams to help save time, be extremely critical to ensure you adjust it to conform to your business needs.
Conversely, get someone experienced in this facet of implementing the theory to give it the once over.
