Most companies who are looking for an ERP manager are requiring this person to have a bachelors degree in a related field and more or less 8 years of experience in this field or a related field. His familiarity with various ERP concepts, procedures, and practices is also needed. In general, familiarity with the ERP software and his personal qualities are the biggest pointers to be hired in this kind of ERP job.

Once hired, the ERP manager will take care of developing, planning, and implementing the ERP systems. The ERP manager will also set deadlines, monitor progress of the system, and assign responsibilities to his staffs. He will also evaluate or assess the changes in the system. He also has the power to recommend changes to the current ERP system so as to meet the enterprises needs. The ERP manager will also lead a group of ERP analysts. And, of course, this person should have excellent leadership ability.
