Before apprentices can actually jumpstart their career with CCNA accreditation, he/she should prepare with the CCNA Technical Certification or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT). This helps the students from entry-level network support positions to pass the CCNA exam. To have the advantage in skills, individuals need to prove they can install and maintain computer networks. Statistics wise, most of the passers of CCNA exam were from advanced networking positions. These are networkers who spent more than a year in a networking job. It is said that there is a gap between the low rate of CCNA passers and the high demand for networking experts. This is due to the complexity of the curriculum which comprises the CNNA exam. As a result, Cisco was challenged to create a standard that will validate skills of entry-level networkers from the basic to the complex.
CCNA Technical or Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) is a non-prerequisite program consisting of four courses which tackle basic networking knowledge. CNNA Technical limits the technical depth of the instructions under this curriculum and is the entry level for Cisco Certification. Getting CCNA Technical status will advance the status of students by a lot. Successful students of this course will probably later move up to advanced networking position and will have a higher chance of passing the CNNA exam.
Successful students under this program may pursue the Computer Specialist (CCNP) certificate program and/or Computer Engineering Technology program. This will enable students to gain a more advanced level of Cisco networking skills.
CCNA Technical courses incorporate instructions on how to install, configure and operate LAN, WAN and dial access services for small networks with fewer nodes, and should also include (though not limited to) use of protocols such as IP, IGRIP, Frame relay, VLAN, RIP, Ethernet, and Access lists.
