Since WiMax is considered as a wireless mobile technology, it requires substantial backhaul to support its operations. (c) Range and Throughput – A range of 3 km and a throughput of 1 Gbps is already enough for a backhaul solution to work for urban and enterprise markets.
(d) Quality of Service (QoS) – In every product or service rendered, quality is always at risk if not taken seriously. For WiMax, one of its selling points is its ability to prioritize traffic to deliver the best quality of service possible that is relative to the traffic. Latency is never an option for a backhaul solution as this may cause a decrease in customer satisfaction.
(e) Rain Fades – A great backhaul solution should be geared up whenever meteorological events happen.
Indeed, it is very critical for WiMax providers to deploy a very stable backhaul solution. There may be a lot of requirements to be considered, yet it will definitely yield greater profits in the future.
