Codenamed Pacifica: The AMD Virtualization

If you are to look back what essentially happened in the middle of the year 2004, you will know that the AMD virtualization was officially launched under the codename Pacifica.  However, it was only in the late portion of the year 2005 that technical specifications and outstanding details of the Pacifica were released and made publicly known.  But for those who wanted to have the processor that has the capability to have AMD virtualization the year of 2006 was the best year to have this property really owned.

AMD Virtualization or the AMD-V in simple terms is the technology that allows for some tasks that the AMD V performs to be taken over by the VMM or the virtual machine managers.  The process of taking over is done thru another technological process known as the emulation process.  Emulation process is the ability of the software or any device to mimic and replicate what the other device or software can do.  Now, when the emulation is performed, the process is made simple and enhanced using the AMD technology particularly the AMD 64 Athlon and Opteron set of instructions.

The AMD-V became a smash hit to computer enthusiasts and technology-driven people.  Quite a few numbers of computing experts have not been enthused by the presence of this new technology but the impact of the AMD Virtualization has been considerably massive and impressive.

Now, after three when it was officially launched and made publicly available, the AMD Virtualization remains to be one of the most formidable technological advancements that thinking people have ever conceived.
