ITIL Foundation V3 Certified : I found The Art of Service book/online training kit to be a very cost-effective way to learn ITIL Foundation basics. With training dollars tight my company strongly preferred this approach to a traditional class. I found the course easy to follow — much more so than a book alone — and passed the exam with high marks. I focused primarily on the online course but followed along in the book. I also took an online sample exam from another website to supplement the practice questions provided. I was very pleased that as part of the online content a free pdf download is available of the latest version of the text. My company inadvertently ordered an earlier version which is easy to do since the numbering scheme is not consistent (white cover is Edition is Third Edition is early and an even later version of the Third Edition is available online-only due to an ITIL syllabus change in May ). With the online text I was able to easily ensure I was studying only from the appropriate edition. Additional tips: * Please note that earlier editions of the book are not as robust. I originally hesitated to order this course based on reviews describing the text as more a study guide than a book but the version I studied from is now 256 pages and fully covered the material needed. * Please note that in order to get a supporting certificate for project management ongoing credential maintenance (18 PDUs) you do need to take and pass the Foundation exam at an additional fee. * Finally note that the online component of this course is only available for three months unless you pay extra so it is best to activate it only when you know you will have sufficient time available in that interval to complete it. I recommend this course and plan to continue with The Art of Service’s intermediate ITIL courses.
