Service
oriented architecture (SOA) is a relatively new technological innovation, and
not many people are aware that it is fast becoming an excellent and rewarding
career option. The demand for SOA professionals has increased manifold in
recent years, due to increasing awareness about the potential benefits that can
be derived, by implementing SOA across all the functional departments such as
sales, purchase, marketing, production and customer relations. For pursuing a
career in SOA, individuals will have to first clear the requisite certification
exam. Employees of an organization are however not required to clear the SOA
exam, as they already have the requisite skills and experience. Existing
employees just need to go through a basic training session to understand the
use of the tools and techniques that they may not be aware of. The best option
is to provide online training to employees so that the productive time of
employees is not wasted.

A
typical SOA exam checks both the technical knowledge and implementation skills
of a candidate. For clearing a SOA exam, candidates need to have a thorough
knowledge related to their current profession, and a certain amount of
experience in any type of technological implementation. Industry specific experience
is however not required, because SOA is applicable in both manufacturing as
well as the services industries.
