Two significant events that aim to improve Six Sigma practices are scheduled to be held this year (2008) and these are the Six Sigma Leadership Conference and the 5th Annual Design for Six Sigma Conference. Though these may be held in different venues and dates, and are organized by different sets of Six Sigma industry professionals, still the objectives on why these conferences are being held may seem to be almost the same. Updating oneself of the current Six Sigma best practices and finding ways on how to make it work on certain organizations are just few of the many goals of these Six Sigma conferences.
The Six Sigma Leadership Conference with the title Business Results Through Process Transformation: Driven by Lean & Six Sigma will be held on April 3 to 4, 2008 in Chicago IL. Some of the topics that will be discussed during the said conference are as follows: (a) Successful use of Six Sigma in the transformation process; (b) Leadership for transforming business into results-driven and fact based-culture; and (c) Best practices being used by process transformation companies.
On the other hand, the 5th Annual Design for Six Sigma Conference will be held on March 5 to 7, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. Some of the objectives of the said conference include: (a) Assess the synergies that exist between Lean Engineering and DFSS; (b) Gain realistic information on the key factors behind successful DFSS programs; (c) Analyze advanced applications and tools that will aid in the development of products; and (d) Understand fundamental relationships between DFSS leaders and the management.
