The first step in getting certified in one of any ComTIA Certifications is to gather information and register for CompTIA Exams. If you are then sure that you want to get certified, there are steps to follow.
First, find out what the cost of certification is. In the US, a CompTIA certification costs from $165 to $255 (ranging from the CompTIA A+ to CompTIA RFID).
Second, select a testing center near where you are located, or where it is convenient for you. Thomson Prometric and Pearson VUE are the testing facilities responsible for holding the CompTIA exams. Through Internet registration, the first thing you should do is to select a state on where you are located and information about the testing area (address) will be given to you.
The third step, purchase your ticket or voucher. Registering through Prometric or VUE may give you discount codes, but it is not applicable when you register through the CompTIA store.
The fourth step, schedule your exam. After you have purchased your exam vouchers, the next step is to register on the testing centers. It is wiser to register either with Pearson VUE or Thomson Prometric directly to get your discount. Thomson Prometric discounts are honored only in Thomson Prometric testing centers. Pearson VUE discounts are honored only in Pearson VUE testing facilities.
The fifth and last step is to get ready for your exam. It is good to be confident about your skill, but taking precautions would be better. Though preparing for a test can be nerve-racking, brushing up on your skills, and studying may give you a positive outcome.
