WiMax which stands for Worldwide Interoperability Microwave Access reinvented the delivery of mobile and high speed communications and connectivity. It enabled companies to improve their networks and enabled end-users to maximize the productivity of mobile communication technologies.
WiMax technology also provided a low cost solution for deploying mobile networks. First, WiMax significantly reduced the overhead cost for setting up a wide network. Because the need for cabling and wiring infrastructures has been eliminated, companies could reduce their expenses for electronic hardware.
Second, WiMax has been able to simplify the set up processes and installation procedures for deployment. Simple and faster set up of the network enable companies to enjoy business continuity without losing opportunities due to connectivity downtime. The complicated installation of cables can take too long thus affecting the productivity of networks. With a cost effective installation and deployment, corporate investments could be reduced also.
Third, WiMax will enable companies to create a network in areas where DSL infrastructures or satellite uplinks are absent. The portability of the network is advantageous to the financials of companies because they can establish a wide network even on remote locations.
Finally, WiMax can be integrated into existing wide networks or WiFi hotspot zones. Companies therefore can deploy WiMax to augment or complement their existing networks without the need for expensive migration costs. The interoperability of WiMax with other network solutions could provide savings not just for the initial set up but also for long term connectivity investments.
WiMax deployment is cost-effective and simpler. Companies could reduce their network investments and save on costs associated with wired or fixed technologies.
